A work of your own

Not a purchase. A commission.

To commission is to begin with a conversation rather than a catalogue. Together we shape a sculpture around your space, your intention and the way you want to feel each time you see it, an original that exists nowhere else and is yours alone.

Charles designs and makes every commission himself, with his small team, from raw material to final finish and on-site installation. Nothing is outsourced, and nothing is lost in translation. It is the difference between buying a sculpture and commissioning one.

What to consider

The questions worth asking

A commission succeeds on a few decisions made early. We guide you through every one.

01

Place & purpose

Should the piece command a space as its focal point, or sit in quiet harmony with it? The setting shapes the whole design.

02

Scale & presence

From an intimate interior bronze to a landmark several metres tall. Scale changes presence, engineering and cost.

03

Material & finish

Bronze for depth, weight and a patina that deepens over generations; steel for line and contemporary form. We help you choose.

04

Investment

Commissions begin from around £25,000 and rise with scale, material and complexity. We give a clear figure before making begins.

05

Timeline

Most commissions take three to nine months; larger cast and public works take longer. We agree the programme up front.

06

Installation & care

We handle delivery, foundations and fixing worldwide, and advise on care so the work stands exactly as intended.

How a commission unfolds

Three stages, one pair of hands

Considered, unhurried, and led personally by Charles from first idea to final installation.

Stage one

Discovery

We begin by understanding your space, your idea and how the finished piece should feel. A call or a studio visit, in confidence, with no obligation.

Stage two

Design

Charles develops the design through drawing and, where it helps, a scale model in clay. You see and approve it before any making begins.

Stage three

Making & installation

Your piece is crafted by hand in our studio, cast in bronze at our UK foundry where required, then delivered and installed anywhere in the world.

The sculptor

Charles Elliott

An artist's vision, an engineer's discipline.

Charles is hands-on at every stage: in the studio alongside his team as the work is made, and on site directing its installation. For a private collector or a commissioning team alike, that means one recognised name accountable for the work, and the assurance that the sculptor who designed the piece is the one who delivers it, on time and installed to last for generations.

Good to know

Commissioning, answered

How much does a commission cost?

Commissions begin from around £25,000 for private work and rise with scale, material and complexity; landmark and public-art works range higher, into seven figures. We give a clear, considered figure before any making begins, and every project value is treated in confidence.

How long does a commission take?

Most commissions take from three to nine months. Larger cast pieces and public-art installations take longer. We agree a realistic programme with you at the design stage and keep to it.

Will I see the design before it is made?

Always. Charles develops the design through drawings and, where it helps, a scale model in clay. Nothing is made until you have seen and approved it.

Do you deliver and install worldwide?

Yes. We have delivered across the UK, Europe, the USA and the Middle East, handling logistics, foundations, installation and insurance, and installing the work with our own team.

I am not sure what I want yet. Can you help?

Of course. Many commissions begin as little more than a feeling about a space. A short conversation is the best place to start, with no obligation.
